One fantastic day, I walked into work to find a strange little device on my desk… lo and behold it was a Tortilla Press! SWEET!

Clearly, it was now in my better interest to find out how well these things work and if fresh tortillas really do taste as amazing as people say…. well…. the answer is YES! Enjoy!

Feast Your Eyes On This Piggie! J. Edwards Pig Roast 2009

My Wino tour this Sunday evening brought me to Jonathan Edwards for their annual Pig Roast with LIVE music by a wonderfully swinging, jazzy, rockin’ band! Complete with tent, tables, chairs, even fake turf beneath your feet to dance the night away!

Tiki torches lines the perimeter to ward off any pesky (and rather drunk) buggies. What a great evening - sunset with the pinkest sky imaginable, warm breeze, great wine, and ROASTED PIG! What’s better than that??

Oh, and glasses of FANTASTIC Jonathan Edwards wine…. Zinfandel to go with the food, Petit Syrah for a chocolatey after-dinner finish and some peppery Syrah to share with a friend. :) We got our own new JE wine glasses and a ticket for a free glass of wine…. hefty pours there too!

Jonathan Edwards Winery Annual Pig Roast! Come On Down!

Don’t know about y’all, but I know what I’ll be doing come this Sunday evening - drowning my sorrows in wine and pork! Well, there are no sorrows to drown, but you might have to pull me up for air from the delicio-so BBQ and roasted pig that will adorn my face.

Jonathan Edwards Winery, and hands-down one of my most favorite Connecticut Vineyards, will be hosting their annual summertime Pig Roast. For a mere $25, one gets to dine on a classy fixin’ of pulled meaty goodness and sip on their favorite JE glass of wine. It’s rain or shine, will feature LIVE music, and nothing says ‘relaxing’ like spending an evening out on the lawn, watching the sunset to great folk music, sipping wine, and noshing on summertime food treats as a fond farewell to the last days of Summer…. *sigh*….

Now, what to drink?? If you do go, don’t miss out on their Syrah Port…. just fantastic, it’s been barrel-aged in old Brandy barrels for about 2 years and is one of the most luscious apres dinner sipping wines I’ve ever tried. It’s up there with my favorite Spanish Ruby Ports and Trentadue’s Chocolate Amore! YUM!!
